Had problems with a couple of features on device; having had success with BBSAK before, I confidently backed up my device before venturing into a RIM tech support driven device wipe, knowing that BBSAK 1.7 would revive me on the other side.

When it came time to restore backup.alx, imagine my chagrine when BBSAK returned the message "this application is not compatible with your device and cannot be loaded".

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

hey hey, its going to be ok.... its nothing to do with your device or your OS its something software wise, its happened to me on 4.5 4.7.1 and 5.0 all on my tour, of course bbsak is compaitable with all OS's (granted we still have no image for storm 2 or bold 9700, but 1 day we will)

i suggest trying to load taht alx inside of desktop manager, sometimes the loader is picky, or vice versa

also i suggest when doing a backup to rename ur older alx files (in other backup folders) loader is pretty good about picking up alx's and pre loading them into the checkbox screen.

and just so you know.... the alx / cods your tryign to load that are "incompatible" ever tho they arent, has nothing to do with BBSAK. BBSAK is a tool to help you put take CODs off and put CODs back on. simple as thath it doesnt choose compatibility thats ur phones OS or the loader(made by rim)

nice words, but the mark of a great application is power, reliability, function, & usability. I can appreciate that this is a free beta application, but it for it to have a successful future, it needs to work when needed - and when it is needed not to cause the user to have to ask questions or need work arounds as that doesn't inspire the confidence that promotes lots of references so that the user base grows virally (which I would assume is the goal).

When I restored the image on my Tour running 4.7 I received no error messages of any kind related to compatibility and the restore happened seamlessly (as it should). That should be the goal to be able to provide that experience to every user whenever they need to utilize BBSAK.

For me & any user to make BBSAK part of our stable, we need to know that it will reliably backup & restore as needed - whenever it's needed. In my case, it wasn't there when I needed it - or it it was I had no idea on the double secret workaround to jerry-rig it to work when I needed it. That give BBSAK an "F" grade.

I need to have a tool that allows me to restore a full device image of my 3rd party applications whenever I need to call on it.
