Many thanks for a great program.

I've just backed-up, wiped and loaded 5.0.0.314 onto my Bold 9000.

The final stage is restoring my 3rd party apps and BBSAK 1.7 won't do it. Clicking on the restore button starts the process but about 2 seconds later the success window appears and nothing has happened on my blackberry (apart from a very quick flash of the white loader screen)

The app cod files are all sitting in the backup directory (using XP) and I managed to reinstall using the install COD option instead but it's very tedious!

Is this a bug?

Regards

Hi all,

I'm having a very similar issue with v1.7 on my Tour 9630. If I want to restore 3rd party apps, I have to do so with the Install COD option. It should be noted that the Wipe Device and Load OS options do work.

One clarifying item about Load OS is that if I click the Add button in the App Loader utility, I can choose the backup.alx in the bbsak\backup folder, but it only installs CODs pertaining to Documents-to-Go. All other apps must be loaded manually as mentioned above.

Just out of curiosity, I tried using the Restore Apps function in v1.6, and that didn't work for me either.

Thoughts as to what may be happening?

the only reason it wouldnt install any apps is if they are incompatible and even when it says they are 9 times out of 10 they arent really.

the install cod (you can load all of them in one fell swoop w 1.7) will work no diff than the other ways the add button via the load is the best way as it uses the alx file. u have me confused why the restore apps doesnt work?

also try loading the alx vis destkop manager if for some reason loader doesnt work

My app reload also failed nor could I get the backup to reload with DM. I also tried to reload the .alx file as well with no success. How do you do it with the COD loader?

Just wanted to post that I have also experienced the same issue trying to restore apps to my 9630 as well.

I also have this problem. I work around it by using "install cod" from the "modify cod" tab. This opens the backup folder where I "select all", then "install cod" installs all of my third party apps. I would look forward to this bug being fixed in a future edition of BBSAK.

Have had the same issue when restoring 3rd party apps to my 9630. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Most often it doesn't work. It will say that the restore is successful but it hasn't done squat. I try to load the alx file in Desktop Manager and DM says that the alx is incompatible. So then I end up installing the COD files from \bbsak\backup. Even that is annoying because if I select all of them BBSAK errors out and closes. (I have 25 3rd party apps/launchers installed.) So then I end up having to install them in smaller bunches and having to wait for the BB to reset itself in between each bunch. My guess is that the alx file that is being created is corrupted or incomplete. One idea: If the backup folder is created on one computer, copied and then the restore is attempted on another computer (i.e. work vs. home) could there be a problem if the machines have different java or net framework installed? xp vs vista vs 7? Same version of BBSAK. 1.7.

I am having the same problem with my Tour. The backup option worked fine, but now the restore apps option comes back finished very quickly. Very frustrating.

It would be great see a list of apps before/after I choose to backup/restore apps.
